SOFTWARE QUALITY AND COMMUNICATION COSTS IN DEVELOPMENT TEAMS DURING AND AFTER THE PANDEMIC

Software quality is a recurring concern. Given the changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, work models transitioned from in-person to off-premises and hybrid work models. Agile teams in the information technology sector were among those that adapted most rapidly to these models. In this context, this study aims to analyze the impacts of this migration on communication and software quality in development teams, guided by the Agile Manifesto and PMBOK guidelines for effective leadership. The study was conducted through a systematic literature review based on the PRISMA protocol and thematic analysis. The results reveal risks of two-tier teamwork or isolation of remote members. Reports on the cost of poor software quality from the United States (CISQ) and investment forecasts for the technology market in Brazil by ABES show the current state of the technology market, thus requiring intentional leadership to ensure high-performance teams.
