THE LANDSCAPE DYNAMICS OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF GUARULHOS: AN ANALYSIS OF CLIMATIC CONDITIONS AS A FUNCTION OF LAND USE AND OCCUPATION

Abstract

The municipality of Guarulhos presents a disordered growth that is translated into its landscape by well-defined traces of accelerated urbanization and use and occupation of geographic space with few or no planning criteria. The objective of this work was to analyze the relationship between temperature and urban occupation. As part of the methodology, a structure was elaborated to couple the Datalloger HT500 thermohygrometer sensor with which fieldwork campaigns were carried out, through eleven points distributed in Guarulhos, for temperature collection. In relation to the acquisition of secondary data, Remote Sensing techniques were applied to elaborate the map of land use and occupation of Guarulhos, with image of the OLI sensor (LandSat 8). It was concluded that the temperatures collected in the field during 2017 were linear from the graphs elaborated demonstrating that the effectiveness of the mobile station in the measurements, with the comparison of the classes of land use and occupation, corroborates the thesis that urban areas tend to present higher temperatures in relation to forest areas , which makes even more evident the importance of urban forests for better thermal comfort of citizens.
